The mechanism almost completely prohibits corner cutting, forward or reverse. It is a bit sluggish, but smooth. It locks up a lot, so i get times about 5 seconds slower. (I average about 25 sec.)

It is a really good cube with excellent turning and great corner cutting after adding a light cube turns are very smooth but the main problem is mine exploded 3 times when I was over speeding definitely good for beginners and intermediate but I would prefer another cube over this if I was an expert.

it is so rare that a budget cube, exceeds the flagship in every aspect, and the mrsq1 is one of those cases. it is so much faster than the weilong and its corner cutting is pretty good, lock ups can happen, but i would definitely recommend this squan to beginners
