The mf8 Starminx I is a dodecahedron with a star on each face, hence its name. It is a corner turning puzzle, and comes stickered so you can begin playing with it immediatly.

The MF8 Starminx is a fairly easy challenge.
It's a corner turning puzzle, so if you can solve the Pyraminx or the corner turning Octahedron, you're ready for this one. Although it looks like a Megaminx, the Megaminx is more difficult being a face turning puzzle. The Starminx was quite tight to turn, but it has never popped on me. Hopefully, you'll experience the two edge flip at the end of your first solve. On a Pyraminx it takes 8 moves to fix. On the Starminx it took me 12 moves.

MF8 Starminx
Out of the box it came very tight, and I found it hard to get an even tension. This cube needs lube but after it turns great. However the edges are sharp and it can hurt your fingers after a while.

A Very Nice Puzzle
I purchased this puzzle when it was first made available here years before this review I am writing (In fact I probably bought it when most modern "cubers" who are going to read this were too young to be into the hobby and probably never even held a Rubiks Cube). But enough of aging myself and back to the puzzle. I consider myself a solver and collector. This is an easy solve, but still a nice piece for a collection, no other dodecahedron really turns like it. You can feel a decent amount of plastic on plastic friction when turning but it is nothing horrible. The size is quite large but the weight is very comfortable. Not a must have for most, but if down the road you would like to buy one and give it a try, it wont let you down and the solve while easy doesnt feel tedious or too easy that is a waste of time especially when first tackling the challenge. Once you figure it out that depends on how much you like resolving puzzles that can be completed with intuitive approaches.
