I'm new to this hobby, so I can't attest to this cube in an experienced context. When you look up reviews of cubes you find them described with words like clacky, crunchy, buttery, smooth, crispy, dry, sandy, airy, hollow, bumpy, etc. From that vocabulary and my limited experience, I would call this cube smooth. It's definitely easy to turn. I got the stickerless variety and the plastic reminds me of the higher end ABS keycaps on nice mechanical keyboards, but a bit slicker.
This is only my third cube. My first was a GuoGuan Yuexiao, which has more effortless turning, but is less controllable. This cube is definitely easier for a novice like me to solve, as the turning is fluid but not too fast. I'm sure after learning how to properly lube and tension a puzzle you could make them feel similar, but out of the box I've found the GTS2 a more forgiving learning tool.i do, however, absolutely love the Yuexiao as well, maybe even more.
I've seen a lot of YouTube personalities loving this puzzle, and it's clearly been accepted by more enthusiasts. From the viewpoint of a novice, this is an excellent cube on which to learn, and, therefore, is a good investment for anyone who wants to learn and advance in the hobby
