The Shengshou Mirror Block is a fun 3x3 shape mod, being a normal 3x3 cube with layers and pieces of different sizes, allowing it to shape shift. The colors are all the same, so it can be confusing to solve, but once you wrap your head around it, it's just like solving a normal 3x3.
Like most Shengshou products, it was very greasy and over lubed out of the box and required cleaning to remove the excess lubricant on the surface of the puzzle. It turns quite well for a mirror block, although the thinnest top layer is slow and hard to turn compared to the other thicker layers. After loosening the tensions a bit it helped, but the top layer still felt quite slow. The layers could corner cut to a small degree, although you won't really be needing lots of corner cutting on a mirror block anyways.
I enjoyed this cube until one day it got dropped and one of the corner pieces completely snapped off and broke, although it wasn't even dropped hard or from a large height, making me think the puzzle was cheaply built with brittle plastic. I have since replaced it with a QiYi mirror block, and overall the QiYi one is faster, has better corner cutting, and feels heavier with better quality plastic, not to mention its cheaper than the Shengshou one and also comes in more color options.
Overall this is a fun cube to solve, but the overall quality of the Shengshou version isn't the best. I would recommend the QiYi one instead. I still think this is a nice puzzle and it is very fun to solve, but there are better versions of it out there.
