By virtue of being an even layered NxN puzzle, this cube is actually a 9x9 with the 9th layer hidden inside (exactly the same way that a 2x2 just has the 3x3 edges and centers hidden). The outer layers are good, as well as the second layers. The third layer is a bit sluggish and likes to stick with the 4th layer. The 4th and 5th layers are a bit better. The internals are primary and the stickerless shades are really nice, although the plastic is matte, not glossy.
I did get the MFJS 9x9 in addition to this puzzle (which does have glossy plastic), and I must say that it turns much better than this Yuxin puzzle does, so I would definitely recommend getting an MFJS 8x8 instead.
