After hearing a lot of praise from the cubing community about YuXin's new 3x3 speed cube, I decided to try it out myself being an avid cube collector and puzzle solver. After using the YuXin as my main for many months now, and having several hundred solves with it, it's easy to see why it received the amount of praise that it did.
Out of the box, the cube felt somewhat tight and sluggish. The corner cutting both normal and reverse were also pretty average so my first impressions on the cube were not stellar. However, after taking the cube apart and thoroughly applying some thin lubricant to the core and pieces, and adjusting the tensions to my preference, the cube became better in almost every aspect.
The cube maintains great feel and controllability while remaining decently fast. It has a mix of a subtle smooth feeling, and a somewhat clicky feeling as well. After performing said adjustments to the cube, it could easily corner cut more than 45 degrees normal and almost an entire piece in reverse without even applying much effort to the layers.
After using this cube for an extended period of time and thoroughly breaking into it, I can say that it is definitely currently one of my favorite cubes in my collection. For the average price of 8 dollars, this cube performs almost as well, if not on an equal level to a lot of other more expensive speed cubes on the market, making it hard not to recommend to anybody who is looking to invest in a quality speed cube as their potential main.
I loved this cube so much that I ordered a second one from CubeDepot, and I plan on completing my collection by purchasing a black one, as I currently have the stickerless and white stickered versions. The only thing that confused me was the fact that the white stickered version came with stock MoYu shades, but other than that I am very impressed with this cube's performance as a whole. Definitely worth your time and money!
